Mr. Cory has specialized in developmental economics throughout his career. While he has dealt with a broad cross section of land uses, he has specialized in tourism development due to the potential impact on more insulated and less diverse economies. He has accumulated over 32 years experience in analyzing the demand for hotels, resorts, and recreation oriented facilities within the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Asia, and Europe; and has made this field the primary focus of his professional career. He has studied more than 450 resorts in over 45 countries in depth, and is a frequent lecturer on resort economics and tourism.

Mr. Cory was Senior Vice President with Economics Research Associates (ERA) and a former head of that company's Resort Practice Group. The ERA brand was absorbed by a publicly traded engineering company in 2007, the name extinguished, and the historic consulting lines largely abandoned. In order to rekindle the unique culture that was embodied in ERA, he works with RCA and has founded his own company, Land Use Economic (LUE), headquartered in San Francisco. While at ERA, Greg served as the corporate representative to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the National Golf Foundation (NGF), and the National Ski Area Association (NSAA). He also served as Chairman of the Recreation Development Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and is a contributing author for two books on resort development published by ULI.

With his interest in resort and tourism development, Greg has been involved in broad reaching endeavors. He was a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Task Force that developed a rural tourism strategy for the Cape York Peninsula in Australia. Similar engagements were performed for Lombok Indonesia and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. For a Turkish company seeking to promote domestic tourism, he was part of an interdisciplinary team that developed a ski strategy for the Korgulu Mountains, and worked with the same team developing an expansion strategy for the Cedars of Lebanon Ski Area, which surrounded the historically significant original grove of trees. More recently he was part of an interdisciplinary team assessing the long term land management strategy for the Serengeti National Park on behalf of the Frankfurt Zoological Society. With the same interdisciplinary team he performed much of the core research in support of the Santa Lucia Preserve; the highly successful conservation based community in California, and was part of the long term development strategy for the Parker Ranch in Hawaii.

Greg has extensive experience throughout the Caribbean. He was involved with a planned international Cruise port in the Turks & Caicos that is designed as a public/private partnership involving the government Economic Development arm and private development capital. During the turnover of the Panama Canal he was involved with determining a re-use strategy for Ft. Amador at the western end of the Canal for tourism purposes, which now supports a cruise terminal and a forthcoming Frank Gehry designed biodiversity museum.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon. Greg has also pursued post graduate studies at the School of City and Regional Planning at the University of California at Berkeley. Greg is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute Recreation Development Council.
